What’s in a name?  Fashion, fame, fad?  In the choice of therapies there is NO Gucci , Dior, or Calvin Klein.   At San Antonio Hypnotherapy Center we’ve been washed with many waters, i.e., we have studied, tested, and taught most of them to our students. We’ve cited the work of the Erickson Clinic in Phoenix, AZ as a pioneer in the USA. Yet, hypnotherapy lends itself to pragmatic inclusion of many treatment modalities. We embrace all effective approaches to unlocking behavioral roadblocks.  We have no favorites and we don’t endorse any specific treatment paradigms. There are some that have been discredited and fallen by the wayside over the years. It is doubtful that any therapist in the last 70 years has seriously followed in the footsteps of Wilhelm Reich.

Certain homegrown American therapists stand out:  Perls, Sapir, Frankl, Rogers, Shapiro, Ellis. There are buzz words associated with their names :  Gestalt, Client-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral (Talk Therapies), Humanist, REBT (Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy) , EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). Yet the field of Hypnotherapy is fertile and there are lesser known, foreign names and clinics that have been made potent contributions to the practice of behavioral modification:  Vinod Mune (Nagpur, India), Paul McKenna (United Kingdom), Christian Schwegler (Switzerland), Barbelo Uijtenbogaardt (Holland/Belgium).  At San Antonio Hypnotherapy Center we bring an eclectic global approach to Hypnotherapy with an emphasis on the greats from abroad.
